Final layout and paper mock up

The front cover expresses a clear relationship to that of claustrophobia and sharp edges, two components in which I feel gives this design hierarchy to the previous manipulations. The straight lines break through dense negative space a sentiment in which draws this design back to a modernist approach.

To express a more awkward colour palette, tone was explored. Lighter purples were explored in which contained stronger outlines, a factor in which is rarely seen within design, thus making it appear difficult to consume.

In order to gather a basis of how the design will appear I firstly made a mock up on that of 80gsm, matt. I found that the paper was too thin, and thus decided that a thicker paper would be best for the production, with consideration being made that the 200gsm was previously too thick and caused the ink to crack.

I felt that the matt approach appeared much stronger than glossy and allowed the deisgn to be far more legible. I also felt that matt paper would be easier to recycle, a factor in which is important when making design decisions for mass produced pieces.
