Chris's illustrations are far more lively than that of Kyffins and thus express Wales in an completely different light. This is primarily due to the vivid colour palette present. From comparing these two artists it is obvious that colour is an effective way in which to express atmosphere within an illustration, this is definitely a component in which I will experiment with in my own designs, exploring with a palette in which expresses mystery.
