Userinterface concepts

Concepts

NHS recovery app

When recovering from a serious illness you are often given a booklet of information in which expresses diet, side effects and recovery time. These can be easily lost and would cost the NHS a considerable printing fee. These brochures would also have to be transported to each hospital, a factor in which would harm the environment. As an opposition to this an app could be created in order to express this information. Obviously some areas of hospitals do not allow phones eg. Chemotherapy units, and thus the information must be relevant to a certain illness. Target audience must also be considered as this format would not be suitable for an elderly audience. The app would express a personal relationship with the consumer recording weight, fitness, diet and any pains. I believe that this app would work specifically well for people who have encountered a heart attack.

Student app

Focusing upon a student lifestyle this app would be multiple functional and offer an online solution to a diary, timetable and financial tracker. Using infographics the display would be clear and easy to communicate. Events may also be recorded including personal and educational.

Protection app

This app will be used when walking alone and acts as a safe mechanism. Recording your movements, it tracks your location, and collects data in order to form your ‘normal behaviour’. If this behaviour is breached a quite alarm is activated, if a response is not made within a 30 seconds, a louder sound is made. After 3 minutes the phone will then notify a friend. After 10 minutes the police would be called.

Card app

In a world whereby digital money is replacing that of real money dont be left without a penny. Have the online wallet. One in which stores your cards and works effectively for contactless payments. This would also apply to that of id's, linking to the government this is highly secure and works in the same way as online banking does.

Lost keys

Resolve the problem of lost keys, with an app in which is connected to your keys through a keychain. When the keys are lost simply go on your app, and search for their location.

The two strongest concepts were taken further focusing upon the outcomes in which may be produced. From this it was evident that certain elements of each design stood out. Small mock ups were also developed in order to explore this further. Layout was explored, alongside factors in which could be introduced to the app, in turn making it appear stronger in design.
