Presentation

Within the presentation a broad range of information was discussed in order to present what CHD is as well as suggesting routes in which the project may take. The differences between a heart attack and cardiac arrest were outlined, with key statistics being noted surrounding the death rate for each. it was also notes that heart disease is the UK's number one killer and thus there is definitely a need for a campaign to tackle this. The British heart foundation was outlined as a key charity in which promotes a healthier lifestyle, as well as developing mass campaigns in order to combat the issue. I then began to branch out and discuss different areas in which could be highlighted such as heart diseases effects on the family, young people and CHD and cocaine abuse and CHD. From the presentation mass feedback was gained surrounding the topic areas in which I could select. Simon suggested that the British heart foundation already complete mass campaigns surrounding the symptoms/causes of heart disease and thus a different outcome should be explored. Other feedback suggested that looking into family history may be a strong point to consider as then the consumer will be aware of their risks. Another idea suggested was highlighting the effects of cocaine abuse on the heart.
