Again as the original book was published in the 60's, I wanted to gain a greater understanding of penguin books during this period as these themes may be applied to my design. From completing this activity it was discovered that a clear grid system was put in place during the period. With the designs following an illustrative style, and a clear layout being exhibited. Primary colours have been extensively used, with secondary colours also coming into play. Background colours used are not vibrant, and thus allow the image itself to stand out. The general style is minimal, with simple illustrations being expressed. Minimal colours have been used, with a maximum of 4.
