Classic book covers (3)


In order to gather as much research possible, traditional covers were also annotated. This is due to the brief suggesting that a new interpretation involving a classical aspect should be discovered. From this exercise key traits should be listed, and may be followed within a future approach. 



Line drawings have been used in this instance in order to add a sense of history towards the novel. The colours used are traditional, with the gold expressing a form of wealth, or royalty. Whereas the red suggests anger/danger. All themes in which are contained within the book. Traditional typefaces have been used in order to comply to the time in which the book was published.  


A classic fairytale, this cover highlights traditional typography alongside patterned embellishments.The red has been used in this case in order to highlight love and romance, but also the danger cinderella put herself in to visit the prince. A light brown has been used in order to symbolise the period of the novel.  


Both illustration and typography have been used in order to develop this book cover design. Although text heavy, the light nature of the type works well with the lines apparent within the illusion. 


Typical weston typography has been used to embody the genre of the novel within the front cover. The illustration used is typical of the period, although it appears somewhat outdated now. 


Foiling has been used within this design in order to highlight key information within the books cover. Three colours have been used in order to complete a simplistic, classic cover.



Within this design typography alongside illustration and photography have been used in order to symbolise the many aspects of the book's plot. The colour blue, alongside doting eyes express an element of mystery.
