Ibis mini brief-CAD approaches

Further inspiration

One of the most impactful timelines I have seen is that of the impressive Leeds college Of Art timeline which appears upon a stairwell. Multiple colours have been used in order to develop a fun, engaging piece. Shapes and dates have also been used in order to formulate this approach.

Famous facts/people/inventions
  • Guy Fawkes (1570 – 1606) conspirator
  • Natives of Leeds are known as Loiners.
  • The first ever moving pictures were filmed in Leeds
  • Sooty and Sweep were born in Leeds
  • Mel B
  • Largest Gothic cathedral in Northern Europe-York
  • York is the birth place of the Yorkiebar, and kitkat
  • 61% of Sheffield is green space
  • The artic monkeys and Pulp came out of Sheffield
  • Bradford invented School dinners

Concept 1

The first concept involves that of a factual response whereby facts surrounding Yorkshire have been placed in a bubble approach in order to highlight the counties attributes. A bold colour palette was originally explored with in order to convey the idea that Yorkshire is one of the most influential counties within the UK. Yellow was used in relation to that of the Yorkshire rose. The facts in which were selected convey Yorkshire as a positive, friendly place.
