Cad development (5)

The previous ink drawing developed for the cocktail card was again selected with different aspects of the streamers being cut out, and explored with in terms of colour. I decided to do this as I felt that the original green did not comply to that of the current colour scheme.

The streamers were then placed within a pattern. The pattern felt some what separated as certain streamers seemed to build an invisible line, forcing the design to appear as if two uncomplimentary patterns has been placed together. In order to reduce this feel the streamer were placed in jagged positions, with many linking. Colour was widely explored with the blue being selected due to previous connotations within the sets.

The pattern was then explored within in the net. Sizing became a large factor in this stage of development as multiple smaller streamers seemed to express a more fun flowing, free party atmosphere than that of a larger, stiffer streamer.

The colours from within the pattern were then explored with in the style of a block colour. Although the blue felt effective the impact was not strong and thus a younger audience would not be drawn to it upon a shelf. When exploring with the purple I initially felt this to be stronger as a large contrast was developed. When discussing this with my peers they suggested that the purple was used within these more and thus related more directly to other aspects of the set. As a result of this the purple design was selected.
