Initial drawings for Geo Filters

Drawings were developed in order to gain a visual representation into what the designs may look like. Multiple concepts were drawn from the brands belief and ethos in order to promote this.

  • An elephant design was drawn in relation to the elephant pumps in which supply the water. The elephant also relates to a positive iconography piece associated with Africa
  • The love heart approach was developed in association to pre-exiting iconography for the brand.
  • The thirsty planet water bottle was also implemented into the design in oder to physically highlight the product.
  • The logo was also basically layout out in order to promote the brand.

From this, I decided that the elephant design would be most effective as it explores a new innovative design, in which promotes the charities aspect.

From this multiple elephant drawings were developed in which depict elephants and the logo in multiple different formats. Both 3D and 2D drawings were expressed. In forms of a geofilter I felt the flat 2D design in which contained the type was most effective as it could work on multiple coloured backgrounds. I also believe that as little detail should appear present within the design as the logo itself is very raw in which promotes the organic nature of the brand. I explored with digital mock ups in order to formulate this. Unfortunately a lot of my mock ups have been deleted as my memory card broke, but some examples of this have been outlined below.

The designs were explored with in multiple compositions in order to promote a design in which is non-obstructive, fun, and appealing. The three tonal colours were used in order to promote the brand design within the piece. The logo itself was positioned in multiple ways in order to promote legibility and form. The second variation cuts off some of the type and thus this does not appear as legible as the first or third variations. I also believe that the logo is difficult to read within the second variation due to the sizing, as a result of this I would suggest that the first and third designs are the strongest, although feedback from the group must be gathered in order to support this.
