CAD Development

From the illustrations developed it was decided that 3 approaches were to be completed. These 3 approaches will then be used in a set format in order to make my designs stand out against my competitors.

Pen design

The composition of the pattern was widely explored with the close nature of the pens appearing somewhat confusing. The design also hurts the consumers eyes and thus as a result of this a more even spacing was developed. The general aesthetic complies to that of the previous designs, although the design feels somewhat more compact than some of the other designs. As a result this must be explored with more, considering spacing.

To further reduce the impact upon the consumers eyes the colour palette was also explored with a darker purple being used. The spacing between the designs was also increased in order to comply to the given feedback.

Sticky note design

A range of design ideas were explored surrounding the sticky note. I personally believed that one of the most effective was that of a large sticky note appearing in the centre of the design. When discussing this with my peers they suggested that this appeared very immature with the large sticky note appearing as if you should write your name on it. As this has connotations forwards both primary and secondary school, this idea was removed.

A design in which mimicked the repeated patterns highlighted beforehand was then used. This in turn embedding them as a set.

Scissors

This was further repeated within the 3rd notebook idea. By developing two extra notebooks than needed, I hope that this allows my designs to be commended by the judges as extra effort has evidently been put in.
