Primary research-pre existing BHF materials

As it was previously highlighted that little materials have been developed by the BHF for those who may be at risk of CHD through hereditary means, research was undergone into the other physical materials in which they do provide.

Your guide to tests and treatment-DVD

All key speakers within the DVD are all older individuals (over 40) and thus it would be difficult for a young consumer to relate. The platform in which it is present also does not apply to young people as they likely do not have a DVD player, with modern laptops not containing a portable DVD slot.

General booklets

An array of information and topic areas have been expressed within the booklets. This allows for the consumer to gain an extensive knowledge upon areas in which may relate to them.

Construction

A concentina format has ben used in order to make the booklets clear and engaging. This is essential due to the size of the product. Large typography has been used for print (18pt) in order to promote legibility towards an older audience.

'Life saving guide'

The above guide gives a condensed knowledge upon an array of topic areas surrounding CHD. A broad range of information expressed has been formatted within a grid system in order to promote legibility. Illustration styles differ within this publication compared to that of others, although the same simplicity has been maintained.

A5 booklets

A5 booklets show an array of topic areas. The design is simple and manageable.

A6 booklets

The A6 booklets follow a strict design style. Although the iconic red, black and white have been used other colours have been implemented into the design in order to make the design appear more visually appealing. The iconic red has also been 'faded' in order to promote a more aesthetically pleasing design.
