Obvious nature of film posters

Film posters have been highlighted below. Research was conducted into film posters in order to promote the idea that Hyde park picture house is a cinema.

The above approach is highly effective as it is clear and straight to the point. The two tone aspect allows the design to be minimal and thus allows the imagery and type to appear as if the main focus. this draws attention to the meaning of the film rather than the colours present.

Negative space has been used in the above design in order to capture the protagonists form. Although the protagonist, Pocahontas, is highly recognisable no information surrounding the viewing etc has been noted and thus I would suggest that this poster does not complete its job. As a result of this type must be somehow embedded within my design.

Exploring the dimensions of a page is also a key factor in which sets designs apart from one another. The above design uses that of a rotation in order to make its design stand out. this may be further explores within my own design.
