Students, and those to have graduated within the last 12 months, are invited to take part — and submit their work by the 23rd March 2017.
Submissions are rigorously assessed by the organisations that wrote each brief, before winning entrants are published and awarded at a splendid Ceremony each year. All winning work is showcased in the pages of the YCN Annual. 15,000 copies of the Annual are distributed across education, and across the creative industries internationally.
The YCN Student Awards enable all those that take part to benefit from engaging with thoroughly contemporary communication challenges, and give increased confidence, visibility and employability to all those that excel within them.
The Call for Entries for the 2016/17 programme was launched on 24th October 2016. The deadline for submissions is March 23rd 2017.
Why YCN not D&AD
YCN has been chosen over other award bodies due the company providing more ethical competitions. Large amounts of exposure are drawn from winning the competition with work starting in the annual. You are also able to submit a design board alongside your piece a factor in which I belive to be highly important, as context is essential. The marking body also sets aside 6 weeks in order to judge the work, a careful process in which I belive to be ethical. The prizes won are also substantial with many offering work placements.
