What typeface?

Typefaces were explored in which were developed within America around the same time as the murders occurred in order to allow a contextual relevance to the book. Both serifs and san-serifs were explored, with the serif fonts appearing more contextually relevant.  American typewriter played a large part within the experimental process as it is representative of the method in which Truman wrote his official copy for the book. As this typeface is often used within crime genre books it also felt very relevant and thus was selected as the main body copy. A bold variation was used in order to develop a contrast to the fragile title.
