Spreads

As the reverse cover needed a strong relationship to the front cover a similar style was expressed. Using a banner approach, this also promoted legibility.

A 'double' cover approach was explored. Although the design appeared somewhat irrelevant and thus this design idea was discontinued.

Hierarchy of information was explored insuring that the most relevant information was expressed first. Traditional blurb layouts were looked at in order to gather this information.

A diagonal text composition was decided upon in order to make the relevant information more interesting to look at, and to further engage the consumer. The spine was widely debated as the pattern seemed somewhat overpowering, and thus attempts were made in order to make it less impactive. Therefore allowing the text to not have to tabble with the background.

Type was widely explored, with American typewriter being most relevant, due to the consistency of the book's typography.  Composition was then manipulated in order to gather the best possible outcome. Legibly was a key factor when considering this.
