Leaflet mock up folds

I decided that the best way to determine which design would be most sucessful would be to develop some mock ups. The above image displays a simplistic gate fold in which is recogniable to the consumer but isn't as highly used within leaflet deisgn as 3 fold booklets and thus is more intresting. The gate fold allows the consumer to be involved within what infromation is shown, and thus the front page must be impactful to gather the audiences attention. It is also consumed that the target audience for this leaflet is often lazy and may be intrgued to read the leaflet. Due to these reasonings I feel that the facebook page design would not appear effective when placed within this format.

To create a design in which has context I decided to develop a car fold. Although I really like the idea of this leaflet I feel that production wise it would not be suitable. Each car would have to be hand folded, costing the government vasts amount of money. The deisgn would also not slot into a brochure rack unless placed sideways, thus the context would be lost.

Using my inital sketches as an influence I began to devlelop the motorway sign further. The symbol placed within a triangle ultimatly depicts a warning, causing the consumer to gather the opinion that motorways are dangerous. The leaflet opens up to display information followed by infographics. Overall altough i like this deisgn i do not feel that it possess the hard hitting impact in which I want my final deisgn to maintain.

A basic layout has been derived for that of the facebook page. The front would appear similar to that of a facebook wall and the back of a photo album, or facebook page. The design would contain no folds so the consumer can easily turn the deisgn over with no fuss.
