folds

I began to think about ways in which the leaflet could be folded to create an interesting design in which the consumer wants to explore. Many routes were explored as I wanted to create a diverse approach in which would appeal to a younger audience, who are often construed as being lazy and thus are most likely to act passive towards a piece of design in which does not excite them.

It soon became apparent to me that the shape of the leaflet widely depended upon the context expressed throughout it. Due to this I began to think about how different folds could display meaning. The triangular design would work well if it were to mimic that of a hazard sign on the front and then open to inform the consumer of further detailing. A five fold style approach may be used if the aesthetic appeared very similar to a map, as part of the information video involved information stating the hazards of stopping on motorways to check maps. Postcards may also be used to connote the idea of traveling on the motorway to a holiday destination. A simplistic two sided leaflet could also be used, but the content and aesthetic appeal would have to be highly impactful to appeal to the consumer.

During the following stages of the design process I will explore ways in which these folds could be used in correlation to aesthetic designs.
