study Task 4- Take away Menu

When analysing this menu it is instantly obvious, from that of a graphic designer's point of view, that the overall construction is very poor. Widows appear frequently throughout the text causing an over all messy, unprofessional atmosphere. This can also be applied towards the alignment of text, as centred texts cause strain to the eye as it must adjust for every line. Theories such as Professor Brian Fassetts legible line length can also be applied to this text, as numerous times the word count per line exceeds 12 words, causing strain and illegibility. Typography on this menu is generally displeasing due to 10 different types being displayed. The types used are also ones associated with weaker, cheap brands, In Vignelli's Canon he also suggests that only 3 typeface at maximum should be visible on an advertisement, a rule that clearly hasn't been captured in this brochure,

To conclude this piece of graphics contains multiple design errors, which could easily be resolved if factors such as the typography and alignment were cleared up.
