In order to gather a greater understanding upon contemporary cosmetic packaging design research was undertaken. When completing this task it became evident that two celebrity endorsed brands, Fenty and KKW, explore highly similar design trends. It also became apparent through research that this is not always successful. Released within two months of one another, the design style of the two, alongside the colour palette is highly similar, so much so that they appear to be from the same brand.
Although it is important to explore contemporary design trends, it is essential that your product must stand out from the market. As a result of this it may be suggested that sometimes it is better to go against design trends rather than mimic them.
