Natural disasters
Problem: the loss of thousands of humans, the destruction in which these cause'Solution': Campaign for aid
Mental illness
Problem:The lack of knowledge of mental illness'Solution':Bringing awareness to mental illness
Heart disease
Problem:Number one killer'Solution':Bringing awareness
After outlining the problems, it is evident that there is a problem and 'solution' to all issues. Although the solution will not solve the issue, they would in fact help ease/reduce/promote knowledge of the issue.
When thinking about which issue would be the best to tackle, sensitivity must be considered. As 1 in 4 individuals have had mental health issues I believe that this topic area may not be appropriate as this may upset some of my peers.
When thinking about both natural disasters and heart disease, I found it obvious to note that there are two large charities in which support each. Therefore my design could be 'set' by the charity or Organization.
Crit
As I was unsure upon which idea to take forward I took the following mindmap to the critique. The mindmap outlines multiple directions in which the design could take, this including the method in which the 'issue' may be projected.
The mindmap in which focuses upon natural disasters discusses the platform in which the information may be projected. It was highlighted that adverts are key, and social media campaigns may be an effective mechanism at targeting young people.
The heart disease mind map focuses more directly upon the issue and whether a cardiac arrest should be highlighted or a hear attack. The audience was also discussed as I believe that the majority of british heart foundation adds are selected for a older audience.
When discussing this with my peers they suggested that the heart disease topic would be better to construct as I could explore with the platforms in which it is expressed. The target audience could also be extensively explored, a factor in which would fill a gap. It was also suggested that I should find the gap within the british heart foundation campaign.
