notecards

In conjunction to the previous card designs other elements had to be developed in order to express a set. In order to approach this creative challenge I decided to develop the notecard set first.

When looking specifically at the brief it states that 1x Boxed notecard set: size 110 x 132mm should be developed. In order to complete this task there are a few questions in which I must firstly answer.

-Does a boxed notecard set have to be contained within a box?
-How do you express consistency through a set?
-How do you make notecards (a relatively old fashioned concept) appeal to 18-25 year olds?

In order to answer these underlying questions peer feedback was gathered. The responses are as follow.

-Does a boxed notecard set have to be contained within a box?

When discussing this question with my peers they suggested that the design would not have to be a physical box but could explore other approaches in order to stand out from the audience. Although the brief specifically states 'boxed' it was stated that as long a the cards are somehow enclosed within a mechanism it should be fine. They even suggested a different approach would allow for a design in which stood out against my fellow competitors.

-How do you express consistency through a set?

When asking this question the responses widely differed. The main points made were that the same cut and paste style should be consistent throughout, colours used within the cards should be expressed within the rest of the set and that any typography used should also be consistent.

-How do you make notecards (a relatively old fashioned concept) appeal to 18-25 year olds?

When discussing this concept with my peers they suggested that as a large proportion of this age group go to university I could make the set in relation to that.
