What if you were developing my book

As an exercise a few peers and I decided to ask one another how we would develop each others book. We did this in order to explore a range of conceptual ideas rather than being drawn to one specific idea. As we are all individuals, I also believe that this allows far more ideas to be generated.

Beth:

  • Direct the book towards a young audience, developing a fun yet modern approach
  • As Manchester and Leeds have a large student population this may also be a selling factor, and an audience to target.
  • Focus on celebrating typography, and how people have effected their environment.
  • Low budget publication

Anna:
  • Focus the concept upon the personality of the city's, what they have in common and how they differ.
  • Edit the book to appear bright and colourful-grabbing a younger demographics attention.

Dom:
  • Look purely at the aesthetics of graffiti, showcasing the best within urban locations. Develop the design as a coffee table book with high quality imagery.

Hannah:
  • Celebrate different forms of graffiti.
  • Contextual element should involve brief overview of graffiti and the art/crime debate.
Katie:
  • Look at black boards and the different ranges
  • Express individuality through type in which is 'forced'

Using this information to aid me, I will develop full concepts in which will be challenged within fridays crit. Some ideas within this concept are similar to that of mine previously and may be able to help me expand my previous ideas, as well as exposing me to new ones.
